OrcaSource is a classified listings and private messaging platform. We are not a marketplace, payment processor, or transaction intermediary. All transactions between users occur entirely off-platform, and we are not responsible for any such transactions.

When you create an account or use the Platform, we may collect:

  • Private messages you send and receive through the Platform's messaging system
  • Offers, counter-offers, and deal-related communications sent through the Platform

  • Any other content you voluntarily submit to the Platform

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical and usage data, including:

  • Pages viewed, listings clicked, time spent on pages, and navigation patterns
  • Search queries entered on the Platform

OrcaSource uses engagement data — including views, saves, clicks, likes, comments, and search queries — to rank and order listings displayed to users. This algorithmic ranking determines which listings appear more prominently on the Platform based on recency, engagement metrics, category relevance, and search relevance. We may use your usage patterns to personalize your experience, including surfacing listings we believe may be relevant to you based on your activity.

3.3 Safety, Security, and Enforcement

  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity, scams, and abuse
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines

  • To verify compliance with our 18+ age requirement

4. PRIVATE MESSAGES AND STORED COMMUNICATIONS

OrcaSource's messaging system stores private messages, offers, and related communications on our servers as part of normal platform operation. While we do not routinely read private messages, we reserve the right to access, review, and disclose message content in the following circumstances:

  • To investigate reported violations of our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
  • To detect or prevent fraud, scams, or illegal activity
  • To comply with applicable law, legal process, or lawful government requests
  • To protect the safety of any person

By using the Platform's messaging system, you acknowledge and consent to the storage of your messages on OrcaSource's servers and to our potential access to such messages as described above. OrcaSource does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration. Period.

Certain information you provide is publicly visible on the Platform, including your username, profile photo, bio, bio link, listings you post, and reviews you give or receive. Do not post information in public-facing areas of the Platform that you wish to keep private.

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including:

  • Buyer Listings are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion
  • Private messages are retained while your account is active. Deleted messages may remain in backups for a limited period
  • Usage and engagement data may be retained in aggregated or anonymized form indefinitely for analytics purposes
  • Legal holds: We may retain certain information longer than standard retention periods when required by law or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims

9. SECURITY

OrcaSource implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration. These measures include encryption of data in transit, secure server infrastructure, and access controls limiting who within OrcaSource can access user data.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. 10. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

10.1 Access and Correction

You may access and update most of your account information directly through your profile settings on the Platform.

Upon deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, subject to our legal retention obligations.

11. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

OrcaSource is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. Age verification on the Platform is based on self-attestation at the time of account creation. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information and terminate the account promptly.

The Platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
